Oscar(s) for AR Rahman !

This is going to be one of those million posts that come from Rahman fans across the country and the world. Many have been expressing their joy and pride on FM and television channels already. I just want to take a moment and praise this genius for the honor he has brought to our Country and its music.

I will restrain from writing how big a Rahman fan I have been. I wanted to write a post since last two months after a string of musical hits he has delivered in the last couple of years. Jodha Akbar, Jaane Tu, Yuvraaj, Ghajini, Delhi -6, Sakkarakatti and this world known Slumdog Millionaire - all gave him a versatile scope for music. Rahman in an interview said, they (SDM crew) wanted to keep Slumdog millionaire music or movie under wraps until oscars are announced. I am sure they had known the destiny of the film themselves.

I and many other million fans of Rahman out there feel great pride and joy on this occasion.

I wanted to leave this in comment rather than in the main post itself.

A good film is one that shows the reality in an interesting way. So, for those so-called-lovers-of-the-nation who said this movie shows India in a bad way, this movie doesn't exaggerate anything more than just normal.

And, Rahman has done better works than Slumdog tracks but, those projects did not carry him to the top.
And, for those who say, this movie is recognised because it was not directed by an Indian, all I could say is, no Indian would take a subject like this. So, better sit back and enjoy or praise the work !

Yeah Rahman rocks all the way. From Leo coffee ad to Oscar stage, it has been a great journey for him, and we are all blessed to be living in this same era to witness all that. Really proud to be a Rahman fan!

And yeah, as I had told in my blog, some pesudo patriots out of no where started making issues about the way India is shown in the film, when nothing more than reality was shown there.

And for ppl who claimed that the west loves to see India being projected as a slum country, I would say that West will see India as a slum nation as long as Indians love watching films full of sex, violence and senseless songs!

If you see the last 10 movies of Rajini, its nothing but rags to riches story. Who said no Indian would take that subject?
On a seroius note, there are many more bold subjects which has gone unnoticed..
